3D printing is still a young technology that is already demonstrating some high-impact applications within the educational world. Consumer-grade printer offerings have not only dropped in price but they're becoming more reliable and easy to use. Sharing components and operating via micro-controller code that is strikingly uncommon , they still remain a technology unto themselves, at times. Don't be fooled into thinking that they are care-free, point-and-shoot production machines quite yet. They are quickly moving in that direction, however and are already having an impact on our daily lives even though most individuals are completely unaware of just how prolific they have become.
