I currently teach Engineering and Design for Atlanta Public Schools at South Atlanta School of Computer Animation and Design. I sponsor both a coding/programming club as well as our local chapter of the Technology Students Association. We are a title one school and %100 of my students participate in the free/reduced lunch program. My educational projects and efforts are directed towards urban youth seeking opportunities to experience what the world has to offer outside of their daily lives. Whenever possible I try to incorporate my "outside" interests into my career as I feel like it is my duty to provide my students with as many opportunities as possible - whether that be the opportunity of a job with a friend's business or simple the exposure to something that spurs their imagination.
These efforts do not come without expenses. Operating the types of projects that truly excite and encourage students requires funding for materials (building materials, computer peripherals, application subscriptions/licenses, etc), tools (we need 3D printers, cameras, printers, soldering irons, shop tools, CNC mills and such) as well funds for the occasional field trip to a local Univeristy or state conference/competition. Donations of all sorts accepted.
I will regularly set up projects on www.donorschoose.org. Feel free to visit the link to our current project or simply use the donation form below. Complete descriptions will always be provided but if you'd like more information, please do not hesitate to contact me directly. Thank-you for your generosity.
