The South Atlanta Code Crew is an effort I have undertaken with an old friend of mine from my undergraduate years at UGA, Stephen Pellicer. A professional programmer, problem-solver and high-tech disciple - Stephen has been instrumental in developing and delivering coding/programming resources to a group of students who have shown an interest in the world of programming and computer science.
The stage has been set via a Google Plus group populated with resources such as an tutorial for IRC, links to the MIT introduction to CS and Programming as well as regular motivation and updates from Stephen - the SACC Guru.
This year we have attended the Georgia SIEGE-Con (Southern Interactive Entertainment and Gaming Expo) for high school students, participated in the South Atlanta Day of Code, and we currently have a few members attempting to complete some Google Code-In tasks.
The SACC began as a subset of the Technology Students Association but is quickly growing into a group of its own.
